How Driven Films Supported a UK Agency’s Awareness Project in Florida

Partnering with xProductions to capture authentic round table discussions on alopecia areata.

At Driven Films, we’re passionate about more than just great visuals — we’re committed to helping other production teams succeed, no matter where they’re based. When UK-based xProductions needed a reliable U.S. partner for a special awareness project, they turned to us to bring it to life in Florida.

The project centered on raising awareness for alopecia areata, a condition that impacts millions. The goal was to capture a series of intimate “round table” discussions between multiple participants, sharing insights, experiences, and expertise on the topic.

Turning a Hotel Conference Room Into a Professional Set

Hotel conference rooms are often designed for meetings, not for high-quality video production. Fluorescent lighting, neutral walls, and generic furniture can make them feel flat and uninspiring on camera. But with the right vision and attention to detail, even the most ordinary space can be transformed into a polished, professional set.

For this project, our crew worked with the existing space and reimagined it for a warm, engaging round table discussion. We started with set decoration, adding subtle styling elements to create an environment that felt welcoming and comfortable for participants while still maintaining a clean, brand-appropriate look.

Next came camera setup. We positioned multiple cameras strategically to capture each participant clearly — from individual close-ups to wider shots that conveyed the group dynamic. This gave xProductions and their client maximum flexibility in post-production to cut between angles seamlessly.

Our lighting design was tailored to eliminate harsh shadows and create a flattering, natural look for all participants. Soft, even lighting helped keep the conversation visually cohesive while making everyone feel at ease on camera.

Finally, we paid careful attention to audio, running multiple microphones to ensure every voice was captured with clarity. With several speakers contributing to the discussion, balanced sound was essential — and we made sure every word came through crisp and clear.

The result was a space that looked and sounded far from a standard hotel conference room — instead, it became a professional, camera-ready setting for meaningful dialogue.

Seamless Collaboration With the UK Team

Working closely with xProductions’ producer, we made sure every technical detail aligned with their vision and their client’s expectations. Our role was to help them get the exact footage they needed while ensuring the shoot stayed on schedule and ran smoothly from start to finish.

Producer Rebekah Heys from xProductions shared her thoughts on the collaboration: "Working with Joe and the team at Driven Films was an absolute pleasure! Thanks to their dedication and hard work, the production ran smoothly from start to finish. This resulted in happy clients and was immensely appreciated - I wouldn't hesitate to partner with them again in the future."
